Surprise your significant other this holiday season with the gift of dancing. Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation offers many adult dance classes ranging from Dancing As the Stars and obtaining a full body workouts to Exercise Irish Step. Programs are offered to adults’ ages 18+ years old. All programs will take place at The Monon Center (1235 Central Park Drive East). To register, log on to www.carmelclayparks.com.

Dancing as the Stars (Beginner): Thurs, Jan 7-Feb 25 | 7:00-7:55pm | $135

(Intermediate): Thurs, Jan 7-Feb 25 | 8:00-8:55pm | $135

Are you ready for a workout full of spicy body and footwork? Come and dance your way to a slimmer body and sharper brain! You will enjoy learning fancy steps of Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Waltz and other dances, while burning calories and improving your core strength and posture. Improve your skills through the exciting International Latin and Ballroom dance syllabus and meet others who have the same passion for dance!

Ballroom Dance Classes: Waltz | Fri, Jan 15-Feb 26 | 6:35-7:35pm | $88

Tango | Fri, Jan 15-Feb 26 | 8:45-9:45pm | $88

The ballroom classes at The Monon Center are better than ever! We are offering dance classes in which the whole session is devoted to only one dance. This will give you the chance to focus on one dance at a time, so that it can be learned more completely and more steps can be added. Choose from the elegant Waltz, the fun and classic Swing, the dramatic Tango, or just take them all! Cha Cha and Fox Trot to be coming in the second session. Sign up now, as there is a high demand for these classes.

Beginner Tap: Tues, Jan 26-Mar 16 | 12:15-1:00pm | $65

Have you always wanted to give tap a try? Grab some tap shoes and join us as we learn tap fundamentals. We will put everything together for a cardio warm up and learn a routine. We will accomplish shuffles, flaps, buffalos and turns just to name a few. Tap shoes are required.

Exercise Irish Step: Wed, Jan 13-Mar 3 | 8:00-8:55pm | $40

You have seen Irish dancing on stage, screen and television, now you can be part of the fun! Come learn to jig rather than jog. Join in a reel, not a run. This course will combine the basic steps of Irish dance with stretching and strengthening exercises. Please bring comfortable shoes; ballet or tennis shoes will do. A water bottle and towel are recommended.
