The Creative Escape Pottery & Mosaic owner, Jennifer Snooks, is proud to be part of American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women by organizing a pottery painting project.
Volunteers from around Hamilton County, as well as Indianapolis, gladly donated their time to the project to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Volunteer Autumn Gill said “I like the Go Red for Women campaign. I like what it stands for. Women and heart disease is something that gets swept under the rug.”
In support of this year's luncheon, one of The Creative Escape’s suppliers, Mayco of Hilliard, Ohio, donated 130 dress vases which reflect the Go Red For Women red dress logo. Another distributor, Ceramic Source of Linville, North Carolina, donated the red glaze used to paint the vases. The Creative Escape donated the glazing and firing of the vases, as well as studio space to hold the 17 day event.
The vases will be displayed at the American Heart Association’s annual Go Red For Women fund raising luncheon on February 20, 2010. For more information on how to get involved, visit www.americanheart.org.
